What we mean by “Co-Investor”

In our context, a Co-Investor is not a passive capital provider. It is a partner who participates in a defined project structure with clear governance, reporting, and rights—typically alongside NRK and a financing bank. This term reflects how many real estate projects in Germany are executed: the bank often provides a significant share of the capital (commonly up to ~80% as senior debt, depending on the project and bank approval), while equity partners invest alongside the operator. Using “Co-Investor” also fits the German legal and corporate environment, where minority investor protections and formal shareholder rights are taken seriously and are typically embedded in the project documentation.
